The family is the first social institution formed by the marriage of a man and a woman, and with the birth of children, its membership increases. The family, like other social institutions, has objectives, one of which is childbirth. Therefore, childbirth holds great importance in the sacred religion of Islam. The purpose of this research is to investigate the position of childbirth in increasing the psychological security of the family, conducted using a descriptive-analytical method. To this end, concepts related to the role of childbirth were extracted from verses and narrations related to the word "child" in Islamic sources. Through the analysis of these concepts, various dimensions of the role of children in the mental health and security of the family were revealed. The research findings indicate that the role of children in increasing the family's psychological security can be categorized into two aspects: 1. Childbirth and its impact on increasing the psychological health and security of parents, and 2. Childbirth and its impact on increasing the psychological health and security of other family members. The first aspect includes fulfilling the innate need for motherhood and fatherhood, bringing joy and pleasure to parents, fostering a sense of worth and fruitfulness, providing hope for life and the future, being a factor in the development of parents' personalities and abilities, and being a supporter of parents' spiritual capital. The second aspect includes providing honest consultation, children's independence, family, responding to the need for security, strengthening empathy among family members, and so on.
