Respecting and honoring human beings—especially children—leads to the development of self-esteem and personality, enabling the child to feel valued and to see themselves as capable and significant. This is one of the influential principles in positive child upbringing. In this writing, we examine the importance of honoring children and the methods of honoring them based on the Prophetic tradition (Sīrah Nabawi) and the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt. The aim of this research has been to identify and present the narrations and viewpoints of the Infallibles regarding the importance of honoring children and the proper ways to do so. Despite all their concerns and responsibilities, the Infallibles gave great importance to children and honored them in various ways, as they were fully aware of the significance of this matter in shaping the future upbringing of children. In this work, based on their narrations, we have extracted several methods for honoring children, including: the role of honoring in a child’s upbringing, greeting children, standing up when a child enters a gathering, addressing the child respectfully, and choosing a good name for the child. The educational patterns related to these points have been explained in the text. It is hoped that, by considering the viewpoints of the Infallibles regarding honoring children, we too will take them as role models and strive to contribute to the formation of our children’s character.
